BLOOMING GROVE — Mediacom Communications has moved into its new 110,000-square-foot home and created 40 jobs, according to New York state.
The completion of the $43.9 million project last month enabled the Empire State Development board to approve a $1 million grant Thursday.
Mediacom had threatened in mid-2011 to relocate from the Town of Wallkill to New Jersey, prompting New York state to shower the nation's eighth-largest cable company with $7.5 million in incentives.
The remaining $6.5 million in tax credits will be paid if Mediacom boosts its local staff from 250 employees in 2011 to 390 a decade later. Mediacom has already grown to 290 employees, according to ESD documents.
